Who wants to watch me fly like a penguin…???!!! 😱

Yes, that’s what it says…. Why, you may ask since neither penguins nor I can fly. Well… it’s that time again when I’m getting all excited about my next trip to Africa! I will be going to South Africa again in January and in the 7 weeks I’ll be there, I will travel from Durban to Cape Town by Baz Bus (Baz Bus) with a 4 week stop in Port Elizabeth. Here I’ll be volunteering with the penguins of course,... View Article

Molweni abahlobo!

Finally! My trip to Africa is now booked (and confirmed…)! I travel to South Africa at the end of January and will of course volunteer –  first with the cute little African penguins (who probably also have a nasty bite if they don’t like something – thereof the name Jackass Penguins perhaps, and the reason for the Grumpy sign…) and then with cheetahs and African wild dogs! I’m so excited! I’ve already started the countdown. 😉 As usual I will have a few causes I hope... View Article

Africa 2015

Hello all! Only one month until I´ll  be on my way to Africa! I´m soooooo excited!! Wonder if I can start packing yet… And maybe I have to start wearing only the clothes I will not wear in Africa so I´m sure nothing I´m bringing is in the dirty laundry a day before I leave or something… Crisis! Then again, I won´t be bringing that much (I hope…)- only the necessary stuff. They actually have shops on the African continent... View Article

Mobile Library on Zanzibar

My new exciting project – A mobile library on Zanzibar. I think reading is an essential part of a good education as it will make you discover new worlds and I think the more you read the more you want to learn about people of the world. It is also a great way to escape your daily life and just dream. That is why I want to start a mobile library for the wonderful people on the island of Zanzibar.... View Article

Burundi Refugees

Hello good people of the world! I have now added a new cause because of the political turmoil in Burundi. Burundi people who are against the current government and the fact that they have decided to have a third term are being threatened. This has caused an unsuccessful attempt at a coup and uproar in the capital Bujumbura and tens of thousand of people have fled the country. A lot of them have managed to flee to the neighbouring country... View Article

Birthday Blog

Happy birthday to me! I have received so many nice birthday wishes on Facebook and texts and calls and everything. Not so bad getting older in this day and age…Three years ago I celebrated my birthday in South Africa, at Modgaji Cheetah Rehabilitation and Conservation farm. My first time volunteering and I have volunteered somewhere in Africa in every holiday since. My day started really early when Carmen, one of the nice people looking after me (read: putting up with... View Article

Mambo Rafiki!

My first blog on my own website! Whooohoooo! I promise I will not bother you too much with this blogging thing as it will not be an everyday blog about all my handbags, shoes and clothes, but more of a blog about my future trips to Africa and what I´ll do there (apart from buying African handbags, shoes and clothes…), and I might pop in and tell you if something exciting (exciting to me at least) has happened. I am... View Article
